Getting started
Getting started
How do I bring a project onto OHEAR.AI?
Send us the script (or a representative scene), the timeline, and the character list. We onboard the project, set up actor invites, and you receive stems back in under one business day for the first session.
Do my actors need any software?
No. Just a Chromium-based browser, closed-back headphones, and a USB microphone. Sessions are recorded directly in the browser with local IndexedDB backup so nothing is lost on a dropped connection.
Do you provide casting, or do I bring my own actors?
You bring your cast. We focus on the recording, alignment, and delivery pipeline. If you need recommendations, we can introduce you to a small bench of voice actors who already work on the platform.
Pricing & billing
Pricing and billing
How is pricing structured?
We price per recorded line. The cost calculator shows the typical band for each project type. Talent fees are passed through at cost; OHEAR.AI charges the recording, alignment, and delivery work on top.
How are pickups billed?
Three modes: full rate (every pickup line is billed normally), half rate (default and recommended for typical projects), or free pickups (negotiated up-front for tighter budgets).
What payment methods and terms do you accept?
ACH and paper check on net-30 terms once the project is delivered. Card payments are available for short one-off projects on request.

What audio quality do you deliver?
48 kHz / 24-bit BWAV with embedded bext + iXML metadata, frame-aligned to your video. Stem grouping follows Netflix Sound Mix Specifications when that option is on.
How long does processing take?
Typically about 10 minutes for a 90-minute episode. WhisperX alignment and ffmpeg slicing run in parallel on GPU workers.
Do you support languages other than English?
V1 supports any language WhisperX recognizes for alignment. The producer UI is English plus simplified Chinese; actor-side prompts are localized per session.
What browsers and operating systems do you support?
Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc) on macOS, Windows, and ChromeOS. Safari support is on the roadmap; Firefox is not currently supported because of MediaRecorder differences.
Legal & compliance
Legal and compliance
Who owns the recordings?
Your actors retain copyright in the performance. You receive a perpetual, worldwide license for the project covered by the session, with terms set in the actor release form before recording begins.
Is there an NDA in place with actors?
Yes. Every actor signs a confidentiality agreement before they see the script. Confidentiality runs until public commercial release; actors may use clips in their reels after release.
How do you handle data residency and storage?
Source media and stems are stored on Cloudflare R2 in the region you select. Source assets are deleted 90 days after final delivery unless you opt in to extended retention.

What is your turnaround on support questions?
One business day for sales and billing questions. Active production projects get a Slack-shared channel and four-hour response targets during US business hours.
What happens if a take has a problem after delivery?
Re-records during the active project window are at the pickup rate you selected at onboarding. Anything that is our fault — alignment errors, metadata problems, processing artifacts — is fixed at no charge.
